About payroll

Payroll administration

Outsourced payroll means asking a specialist provider to carry out agreed payroll administration on your behalf. This can include calculating pay, preparing payslips, managing PAYE reporting and supporting pension administration.
No. We can handle the agreed administration, but your business remains responsible for giving correct information, reviewing payroll, approving it and meeting its legal obligations as an employer.
Yes. Small payrolls still need to be handled carefully, and workplace-pension responsibilities may still apply depending on your circumstances.
We can support agreed payroll frequencies, including weekly, monthly, fortnightly and four-weekly arrangements, subject to the service package and information deadlines.
Usually, we need any changes to employee details, hours, overtime, holidays, bonuses, expenses, deductions and new starter/leaver information by the agreed cut-off date.

About workplace pensions

Pension administration

Employers have workplace-pension duties when they employ staff, although the exact steps depend on the workforce and whether employees meet eligibility criteria.
We can discuss the administrative requirements involved in working with a pension provider, but we do not provide regulated financial or investment advice. Independent regulated advice should be obtained where needed.
We can support the agreed payroll administration around valid opt-outs, contributions and refunds where applicable. The employer remains responsible for meeting its scheme and legal requirements.
Employers have duties to review certain staff for re-enrolment approximately every three years. We can support the payroll administration and reminders around the agreed process.

About switching

Changing provider

It does require planning and good records, but it should not be unnecessarily difficult. We will explain the information needed and agree a sensible route based on your next payroll date.
Often, yes. The practical approach depends on the quality and availability of payroll records, pension information and the timing of the move.
We provide tailored pricing based on the number of employees, payroll frequency, complexity, pension administration and any additional requirements. You will know the proposed cost before you decide to proceed.
